Other Flock Members!

In addition to our main flock of breeding Cockatiels we also have a few other feathered flock members "flying" around the house.

Ahhh... Toney & Eyva....These two little Green & Red Feathered Clowns are our Cherry Headed Conures.  They are a very bonded and devoted pair.  Though they can be noisey at times they are very wonderful, loving, and entertaining pets as well.  They are just over one year old, and not quite ready to breed yet and not 100% sure if they ever will, but hey as long as they are happy and healthy we're happy.

This Little African Gem is Ayana (Ethiopian for "Beautiful Flower").  She is a Congo African Grey and is an absolute sweetheart.  Weighing in at almost 400 grams she has already started to mimic various sounds and is working on speech now as well.  She swears that she is a cockatiel and speaks to them often throughtout the day.  CAG's are regarded as the most intelligent of all parrots and she's making sure she upholds the family reputation.

We simply cannot forget about our little special needs baby.  Her name is "Angel" (appropriately named) born May 22, 2007, she is a Whiteface Pearl Pied Cockatiel, daughter of Sammy & Lilly.  She is blind in both eyes due to a feeding accident in the nest when she hatched.  She was fed by me every 2-3 hours around the clock for a little under a week.  She was taken to see Dr. Hillary Segl, DVM at Alpha Animal Hospital several times during this very fragile point in her life and she was not expected to live.  But with my constant care and her natural will to survive we made it through the storm.  She is now one of the most active cockatiels in the house not to mention her health is perfect.  From how she moves around in her cage (and on my desk) and plays with toys and hangs from the top of her cage you would never know that she was blind.
